Since 1900, Xi Gui Hao has been rooted in the ancient tea mountains of Yunnan, China — the undisputed birthplace of Pu'er tea. For over 120 years, our family has cultivated, crafted, and aged Pu'er using time-honored methods passed down through four generations of tea masters. What began as a small family workshop on the slopes of Yunnan's deep mountains has grown into a brand recognized by tea lovers who understand that great Pu'er cannot be rushed — only respected.

In a market flooded with variety for variety's sake, Xi Gui Hao chose a different path: depth over breadth. We are a vertically focused Pu'er tea house. 🌿 From Ancient Trees, By Human Hands
Our Pu'er begins where it should — on the tree. We source exclusively from ancient tea trees growing at elevations above 1,000 meters in Yunnan's most celebrated tea regions: Xishuangbanna, Lincang, and Pu'er City. These century-old trees draw minerals from deep mountain soil, producing leaves of extraordinary complexity and depth that plantation-grown tea simply cannot replicate.
Every leaf is hand-picked by experienced harvesters who know each tree individually — when it's ready, which branches to select, and how to handle the leaf so it arrives at the workshop in perfect condition. No machines. No shortcuts. No additives of any kind. Our Pu'er contains nothing but tea, water, sunshine, and time — exactly as it has been for centuries.
📜 Two Traditions, One Standard
🌱 Sheng Pu'er (Raw Pu'er)
Sheng Pu'er is tea in its purest form — sun-dried and naturally aged without accelerated fermentation. When young, it is sharp, vibrant, and floral, with a clarity that reveals its mountain origin. As it ages over years and decades, it transforms — softening, deepening, and developing layers of complexity that make aged Sheng one of the most sought-after teas in the world. A living tea that tells a different story with every year.
🫖 Shou Pu'er (Ripe Pu'er)
Developed in the 1970s to replicate the depth of aged Sheng in a shorter timeframe, Shou Pu'er undergoes a controlled pile-fermentation process (Wo Dui) that transforms the leaf into something rich, earthy, and impossibly smooth. The result is a dark, full-bodied infusion with notes of dark wood, cocoa, and dried fruit — comforting and approachable from the very first sip, yet endlessly rewarding for the experienced palate.
🌍 From Yunnan to the World
Xi Gui Hao is more than an online store. We operate our own physical tea house in Yunnan, where visitors can experience our teas firsthand, talk with our tea masters, and witness the craft that goes into every cake we produce. Our roots are local, but our reach is global.
Today, Xi Gui Hao exports to over 30 countries worldwide — from the United States and Europe to Southeast Asia and the Middle East. In 2025 alone, we shipped nearly 10 metric tons of Pu'er tea to international customers. That volume is not built on marketing. It is built on trust — trust earned one cup at a time, over more than a century.
